How to turn English Language revision into marks

English Language improves through deliberate reading and controlled writing. Pehle task samjho, phir evidence choose karo, and only then shape the response for its audience and purpose.

Answer method

  1. Identify purpose, audience, form, tone, and the exact material that must be used.
  2. Choose short, precise evidence and explain how language or structure creates meaning.
  3. Plan the order of ideas before writing so each paragraph advances the response.
  4. Reserve time to edit clarity, register, punctuation, sentence control, and repeated wording.

Common traps

  1. Summarising when the task asks for analysis, comparison, evaluation, or transformation.
  2. Quoting long sections and commenting on only one word.
  3. Forcing a memorised story or article onto a prompt with a different audience or purpose.
  4. Adding decorative vocabulary that weakens precision or changes the intended tone.

Practice rhythm

  1. Read one short text and write its purpose, audience, tone, and three evidence choices.
  2. Draft one analytical paragraph and one transactional paragraph from the same material.
  3. Edit a deliberately weak paragraph for order, specificity, and sentence variety.
  4. Compare your final response with the task line and remove anything that does not answer it.
