How to turn Geography revision into marks

Geography answers connect process, place, evidence, impact, and response. A named location is useful only when the detail actually explains the pattern or decision in the question.

Answer method

  1. Name the process or pattern, then describe its sequence or spatial relationship accurately.
  2. Use map, graph, photograph, or case evidence with values and locations where supplied.
  3. Link causes to short- and long-term effects on different people and environments.
  4. Evaluate responses by feasibility, scale, trade-offs, and the conditions under which they work.

Common traps

  1. Dropping a case-study name into an otherwise generic answer.
  2. Describing data without comparing values, identifying anomalies, or explaining the pattern.
  3. Mixing hazard, vulnerability, risk, impact, management, and recovery.
  4. Calling one solution best without criteria, limitations, or stakeholder differences.

Practice rhythm

  1. Sketch and label one process or map pattern from memory.
  2. Write one data sentence that includes two values and a valid comparison.
  3. Build a cause-effect-response chain for a Pakistan case and state where the analogy stops.
  4. Answer one evaluate prompt with a judgement that names its deciding condition.
