How to turn Economics revision into marks

Economics answers move from definition to causal chain, application, and judgement. Diagram ya keyword alone kaafi nahi—explain who changes behaviour, why, and what may weaken the predicted result.

Answer method

  1. Define the relevant term and identify the decision-maker, market, or objective.
  2. Show the causal chain one step at a time, using a diagram or calculation when relevant.
  3. Apply each step to the data or scenario rather than adding context only in the first sentence.
  4. Evaluate with time, magnitude, assumptions, stakeholders, and a final deciding condition.

Common traps

  1. Jumping from a policy or price change straight to the final outcome with no mechanism.
  2. Drawing a diagram that is unlabelled, unexplained, or inconsistent with the written answer.
  3. Repeating case data without stating what it changes in the analysis.
  4. Using on the other hand as evaluation without a developed reason or judgement.

Practice rhythm

  1. Write one definition and one three-link causal chain from memory.
  2. Draw and narrate one diagram, checking every label and direction of change.
  3. Apply the same concept to a household, firm, and government decision.
  4. Write a conclusion that states the condition under which your answer would reverse.
